Preparation for Anchoring with Chain Winch

It is known that anchoring is an important operation for a ship or vessel, so before the anchoring operations, it is necessary for the operators to get prepared well in the following way:
1. The chain winch operators should be completely familiar with the operation and control of the anchor winch;
2. They should know well how to put the winch in and out of gear;
3. They should be well familiar with the usage of the winch brake;
4. They should know well about how to lower the anchor in waer, in gear and then hold on the brake only in anchoring operations;
5. They should know how to read the winch winch chain marks, that is to say, know how and when to let in or out the chain properly;
6. Before the anchoring work, it is essential to inspect and check all the parts and accessories of the anchoring equipment and system to make sure all of them are in good working conditions.
